A couple days ago, we decided to put Kayley in a real bed and not in her crib anymore. We had tried this before Christian was born and it was a nightmare because she constantly got up. But, it's several months later now and I decided it would be worth another try. So, Sam took apart the bunk beds (Aubrie had been sleeping on the top and the bottom had just been an extra bed) and we re-arranged their room.
I also went through their closet and completely reorganized it and sorted through everything. We left just one toy box in their room and put the rest of the toys downstairs in their playroom. The crib went downstairs to our guest room so it will be nice if we ever have guests with babies.
I was pretty apprehensive when Kayley took her first nap in her big girl bed but it only took a few disciplinary measures and she eventually curled up and went right to sleep! And since then, we've had no problems. Aubrie loves the new set up and talked constantly about having sleep overs the first night and how she and Kayley could go in each other's bed. Normally, Aubrie is very tough to get to bed and she complains, whines, and stalls constantly but ever since we started this new arrangement, she's been happy to go to bed! Isn't that funny. It feels like a real "sister" room now, I guess.
