A Table of Her Own

The girls busily coloring and painting

After several celebrations and three different birthday cakes on different days, I think the partying is now coming to a close. Aubrie has had a lot of fun turning five and never forgets to tell me about all the things she can now do that she couldn't do before turning five. For example, she says that she can now reach the sink in the bathroom because she is five and is now taller. :)

She also had a lot of fun going to the store with birthday money that had been given to her by grandmas and grandpas and having Daddy help her pick something out. Since she really doesn't understand the value of money yet, we weren't quite sure how to go about it and didn't just want her to go and pick out a bunch of junk or toys or things that she doesn't need and won't play with for very long.

It all turned out okay, though because when Sam suggested this Little Tikes picnic table to her, she was all for it. It's already been a great investment and we have it set up in our living room. It is great for a couple different reasons. First of all, our kitchen table is quite small and barely has room for four people and whenever we have company over for dinner, there is no extra space. Usually we invite a couple over that has a couple kids and now the adults can sit at the kitchen table and the kids can sit at Aubrie's new little table. Secondly, the living room is where we spend a lot of our time during the day and it's nice that Aubrie can now spread her craft supplies out on her own table and color and paint as much as she wants and I don't have to clear it all off every time we want to sit down for a meal.

The table actually folds up too and will be nice to take outside this summer or bring along on camping trips. It also came with an umbrella but we put that away for now since it is not needed in the house and would probably cause some sort of injury anyway (at least with Kayley in the house).

I love the new background (though the old one was cute too!) Isn't it fun to play around with backgrounds!

I hope Kayley is healing and wanted to say that we love our little picnic table for all of the same reasons! They are so nice! Now my goal is to find a big picnic table for our yard this summer!

Christian is a cutie! He sure has some ocean blue eyes and WAY more hair than any of our kids had at like age 2!
